Frequently asked questions
Q: Can the SVSH help me get funding for my RCD program?
A: Yes, the Soil Hub Coordinator is available to co-write grant applications or provide language and resources for proposals.
Q: Can the SVSH help me get funding for my program that is not related to RCDs?
A: Currently, the Soil Hub only seeks funding for projects or programs that are related to RCD work or housed at RCDs. If you are not sure if your program is related to the work of RCDs, please reach out to the Soil Hub Coordinator.
Q: Does the SVSH work with partners and RCDs outside of the region?
A: Yes. While the primary focus of the SVSH is the Sacramento Valley, the Soil Hub also provides connection to state-wide partners and other regional expertise. When appropriate, the SVSH can work together with other Hubs or neighboring RCDs.
Q: Does the SVSH work directly with farmers and ranchers?
A: On occasion, the Soil Hub Coordinator can perform direct to farmer technical assistance (TA) in districts where RCD staff are unable to provide TA services. This TA might include conservation or carbon farm planning services and planning educational events.

A: The Soil Hub does not currently have a pool of funds to implement on-farm practices.
